The Alumni Professional Development Program ‘Research for Impact’ Conference

The Alumni Professional Development Program ‘Research for Impact’ Conference will be held on the
23rd and 24th of January in Jakarta giving over 200 researchers from Australia and Indonesia the
opportunity to showcase their research.
Focusing on the latest innovations in research communication and mentoring between the two
countries, this conference will focus on Indonesia-Australia research collaborations designed to
influence innovation, commercialisation and policy making.

As an initiative of the Australian Government, in collaboration with Australian and Indonesian
Universities, this conference, culminates the year-long Alumni Professional Development Program
(APDP).
Stemming from the Australia Global Alumni Engagement Strategy of the Australian Government
Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the APDP involves over two hundred Indonesian scholars
who graduated from Australian universities.
The upcoming APDP ‘Research for Impact’ Conference will give alumni involved in the program the
opportunity to profile themselves and present their academic research and publications.
Covering a range of topical research areas, from nursing to terrorism, cultural migrations and
information technology, this event will highlight various social policy issues within Indonesia and the
impact of alumni researchers.

The conference will also welcome prestigious speakers such as, Professor Pratikno, Minister of State
Secretariat and Professor Ali Ghufron Mukti, Director General of the Ministry of Research, Technology
and Higher Education.
Various leading researchers from Australian and Indonesian universities are also set to present their
research.
This research event will be valuable to not only experienced researchers but early career researchers
too.
