BUMN GOES TO UNJ
Public Relations of UNJ (10/15/2019) – Indonesian Sate Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Goes to Campus Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ) was held under Studium General program on Tuesday, 15th October 2019 at the Meeting Room of Ki Hajar Dewantara Fl. 8, Campus A UNJ. The occasion was attended by the resource person delegated by the Deputy of Business Sector Construction and Transportation Infrastructure of the Ministry of Indonesian Sate Owned Enterprises, and the Vice Chief Commissioner of BNI, Hambra Samal, S.H., S.Hum. The Studium General was opened by the Rector of UNJ, Dr. Komarudin, M.Si.
This program has been a routine agenda of the Social Sciences Education Department, Faculty of Social Sciences of UNJ with this year’s theme of “Indonesian State Owned Enterprises and the National Sovereignty”. In addition to promoting students’ capacity and horizon, this activity can be a medium to socialize a perspective that BUMNs are crucial assets of the nation to maintain sovereignty.
The Rector of UNJ, Dr. Komarudin, M.Si. in his remarks reminded the importance of BUMNs for a country as stipulated in the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia Chapter 33 Article 1 to 3. The statement emphasizes the strategic role of BUMNs in economically maintaining National Sovereignty.
BUMNs have a crucial role in the national economy implementation with a view to realizing the welfare of the society. BUMNs exist as part of the national development in Indonesia through their either direct or indirect involvement in national strategic projects which consequently contribute to the national revenues. BUMNs must be able to go public more intensely, transparently to give the society a picture of how potential BUMNs is to drive the economy in Indonesia.
Encountering the challenges of the swift in the industrial revolution 4.0, it is necessary that qualified human resources be well-prepared. This cannot entirely go beyond the role of educators to generate excellent and competitive generation. UNJ as one of LPTK is expected to give contribution and spirit to make an innovation to develop an excellent campus, which are prepared for coping with global challenges through activities held by the departments that become the front line sector to improve students’ knowledge capacity.
Hambra Samal in his material elaborated the forms and application of BUMNs in society. There have been numerous BUMNs operating in the system of economy in Indonesia. He added how their present existence is associated with the aspects of National Sovereignty. By means of this stadium general activity, it is expected that students become more familiar with the existing BUMNs. Hambra emphasized that this activity can be a trigger or have a positive impact for us as the people of the nation to actively participate in the efforts for accelerating the economic sectors by using the products of BUMNs.
