NATIONAL SPORT SEMINAR BY FACULTY OF SPORT SCIENCES UNJ

UNJ Public Relations (07/11/2018), National Seminar: Sports Integration in Building National Sports Culture by Faculty of Sports Sciences (FIK) of Universitas Negeri Jakarta was held on November 7th – 8th 2018 at Mercure Convention Center Ancol, North Jakarta.  This seminar was attended by the Rector of UNJ, all the Vice-Rectors of UNJ, Deans of UNJ, students of UNJ and also students from other universities.

“The purpose of this seminar was to create a safe space for students from various universities to interact and to share their research results that later will be combined in order to strengthen both national sport and national character,” said the Dean of FIK UNJ, Dr. Abdul Sukur in his speech. Ministry of Youth and Sports, represented by Prof. Dr. Mulyana M.Pd as the Deputy of Improvements in Sports Achievement was invited as a keynote speaker. Prof. Dr. Moch. Asmawi, Haryono Isman (Head of FORMI), Mayjend TNI (Purn) Tono Suratman (Head of KONI), and Prof. Dr. M.E. Winarno (Professor of FIK Universitas Negeri Malang) were also there as the invited speakers.

Prof. Intan Ahmad (Rector of UNJ) hoped that this event will bring a positive impact to Indonesian sports achievements. “The reason why we gather sports activists here is to evoke interactions that could improve Indonesian sports because sports unite Indonesia,” said Prof. Intan Ahmad before opening the seminar by hitting the gong, accompanied by the Dean of FIK UNJ and the invited speakers. The process was followed by a performance from Pencak Silat UNJ.

Presentations about “Continuous Development of Sports,” by Prof. Moch. Asmawi, “Sport for All,” by Haryono Isman, “Development of Sports Achievement in Indonesia,” by Mayjend TNI (Purn) Tono Suratman, and “The Role of Physical Education in Building National Sports Culture,” by Prof. Dr. M. E. Winarno, M.Pd were up next. The presentations were held in the form of discussions to give participants a chance to ask questions related to the topics. The seminar was a success. Tokens of appreciation were given to all speakers at the end of the seminar.
