Public Relations UNJ 13/6/2019 – Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ) held a Halal Bihalal on the 9th day of Shawwal 1440 H in the Latief Hendraningrat Hall, Gedung Dewi Sartika, Campus A UNJ. This event is part of a series of activities of UNJ’s 55th Anniversary. “Knitting Ukhuwah Strengthens Innovation Towards Reputable Universities” was chosen to be the theme for this year. This Halal Bihalal was attended by Inspector General of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Prof. Dr. Muchlis R. Luddin, Branch Manager of UNJ Bank Partners (BNI, Mandiri, Bukopin, BTN), ad interim Rector of UNJ, Prof. Intan Ahmad, Ph.D., Former Rectors of UNJ, Senate, Deans, and all members of Universitas Negeri Jakarta.

This Halal Bihalal started at 08:30 WIB. The ad Interim Rector, Prof. Intan Ahmad, Ph.D., and his staff stood in front of the lobby of the Latief Hendraningrat Hall to welcome the guests and greet them until 09:00 WIB. After that, the ad interim Rector and his staff entered the room, followed by a music performance by students of the Faculty of Languages and Arts. Prof. Dr. Suyono, M.Si., as the head committee of the Anniversary in his report said that the Halal Bihalal event is a part of a series of celebrations for UNJ’s 55th Anniversary. The purpose of this activity is to celebrate the victory after fasting for one month and to strengthen the bond between the Deans, Lecturers, Students, and Partners of UNJ. It also serves as the opportunity to forgive one another.

Prof. Intan Ahmad, Ph.D. as the ad interim Rector of UNJ expressed his gratitude towards the Anniversary committee for organizing the Halal Bihalal event and the guests who were present on this occasion. “This event is important because we’ve been too preoccupied with work and other activities in each of our units to stay in touch.” Prof. Intan also highlighted that the Senate of UNJ had held a meeting, and in 3 months, UNJ will have a definitive Rector.

The Halal Bihalal main agenda was filled with dawah by the Grand Imam of the Istiqlal Mosque in Jakarta, Prof. Dr. H. Nasaruddin Umar. Nasaruddin Umar conveyed in his dawah that the point of Halal Bihalal was maintaining friendships. Halal comes from the Arabic language halla or halala which means solving problems or difficulties or straightening tangled threads. Maintaining friendships is highly recommended in the Quran. “Those who diligently maintain their friendships are guaranteed a long, blessed life. Practice that not only with our close acquaintances but also with anyone, even with people who have died, because death is not a barrier to friendship and devotion to those who have preceded us,” said Nasaruddin Umar. Halal Bihalal is also an opportunity for people to forgive one another. Asking for forgiveness is a respectable deed, but those who forgive are more honorable. Speaking Ukhuwah means paying attention to each other. It is a symbol of intimacy. Therefore, knitting Ukhuwah means increasing our attention and our intimacy with others.

The event was continued with hospitality and lunch with all invited guests and the UNJ academic community. Hopefully, this Halal Bihalal can maintain friendships and Ukhuwah for all elements of UNJ.
