The universities will eventually not only transfer the knowledge, but also create graduates who are able to apply it in a comprehensive manner by having skills in the attempt to adapt with the changes taking place in society and with the very rapid development of knowledge, technology, and science.

Prof. Intan said, “21st century skills are rising under the assumption that you are all now living in a very rapid advancement of technology and information accompanied with new patterns of communication and collaboration.“ It is also quoted in Parnership for 21st Century Skills (2007) that success in digital world highly relies upon 4C skills (Creative, Critical, Collaborative, and Communication), which do not focus on skills development alone. In addition, Tolmin (2017) pointed out other 4Cs, (Care, Connection, Community and Connection).  These 8Cs require you for not only having life and learning skills but also care and empathy that may affect surrounding environment.“

UNJ has a different identity from other universities. The transformation of IKIP Jakarta into UNJ has brought up diversity in disciplines and competencies of the graduates generated. In conjunction with the transformation of UNJ vision to become “A reputable university in Asia“, the graduates of UNJ are hoped to be able to reflect the identity of openness toward various developments and differences in knowledge, to continually develop and work in a holistic manner in order to meet the needs in the world of work, and finally to enhance dignitiy and reputations of oneself, family, university, and the nation. Prof. Intan Ahmad suggested the graduates, who are the intellectuals, not easily get satisfied, keep learning and and grow optimistic mindset toward any future possibilities and changes. He added that the graduates should always seek the best opportunities by learning, re-learning, anticipating, and reinventing, as well as instill  social responsibility. They are supposed to have integrity, commitment, positive contribution to society and to be a life-long learner and have skills/excellences which others may not have.

Prof. Intan Ahmad appreciated a number of achievements to have been reached by UNJ in academic, art and sports as evidenced by the 11 UNJ students who have successfully won either national or international championships within March to September 2019. One of them is Emilia Nova (Faculty of Sports Science) who won gold medal in Malaysia Open Grand Prix Athletic Asia.
