Groundbreaking Ceremony of UNJ Sports Center

Public Relations UNJ (18/6/2019) – Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ) held a Groundbreaking Ceremony of the UNJ Sports Center on the land of the former Multi-purpose Building, Faculty of Sport Sciences, East Campus, on Tuesday, June 18, 2019. The ad Interim Rector of UNJ, Prof. Intan Ahmad, his Vices, the Dean, and the Head of the Institution attended the ceremony. Head of Sports and Youth Office representing the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Drs. Achmad Firdaus, M.Pd., Head of Education Office DKI Jakarta, Drs. Ratiyono, M.SI., Head of the General Bureau of DKI Jakarta Province, Drs. Firmansayah, President Director of PT. Amarta Karya, Ir. Catur Prabowo, MM., Commissioner of PT. Amarta Karya, Ir. Subagyo, CES., and UNJ Partner Banks; BNI, Mandiri, BTN, and Bukopin also attended this event.

In his report, Prof. Intan Ahmad expressed his gratitude to the DKI Jakarta provincial government for providing the funds to build the UNJ Sports Center. “This is an example of concern from the Governor of DKI Jakarta and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to a University in Jakarta,” said Prof.Intan. He added that DKI Jakarta is a barometer of Indonesian sports. If Jakarta has good sports facilities, then the province will continue to excel. It is also expected that other provinces will see and improve their sports facilities and infrastructure so that Jakarta will also continue to improve its quality.

Head of Sports and Youth Office, Drs. Achmad Firdaus, M.Pd., who on this occasion represented the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, in his remarks said “As conveyed by the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, all sports facilities in Jakarta will be revitalized to international standards, so that our athletes who compete will be familiar with international standard facilities.” Based on Governor’s Decree Number 2027 of 2017, the provincial government of DKI Jakarta provides 89.2 billion rupiah grant for the construction of UNJ sports arena which was delayed by one year. The Governor expects the facilities to be built will have the International standard, so students and athletes can immediately be familiarized with the standard. The Head of the Jakarta Sports and Youth Office also congratulated the boards of the UNJ for safeguarding the building well according to the planned time.

The main agenda was to put the first stone as the beginning of the construction of the UNJ Sports Center symbolized by pressing the siren button by the ad Interim Rector, Head of Sports and Youth Office, along with the honored guests present at this event. The event then proceeded with direct observation of the location of the construction. The UNJ Sports Center will have 3 floors. On the 1st floor, there will be a parking lot, physiotherapy lab, classroom or multimedia. The 2nd floor will be an area of ball games like basketball, futsal, badminton, and gym. The 3rd floor will contain a grandstand with a capacity of 1000 people and a multipurpose room for meetings and seminars. If there are no changes and constraints, this building will be completed in 210 days or in December 2019.
