Acting Rector of UNJ: “Statute is ready”

UNJ Public Relations (10/26/2018), Last Friday Universitas Negeri Jakarta carried out a socialization that had been awaited from all layers in UNJ itself, it was a statute socialization of Universitas Negeri Jakarta. The statute is the fundamental regulations for managing a university that is used as the main viewpoint for drafting regulations and operational procedures in universities. The socialization held on Latief Hendradiningrat at 02.00 until 04.00 pm. The event also invited the teaching staff lecturers, administrators of BEM, MTM, UKM, and the Executive Board of the UNJ Postgraduate Student Forum. The socialization was delivered by Acting Rector of UNJ, Prof. Intan Ahmad and moderated by Acting vice Rector I for Academic Affairs of UNJ and Acting vice Rector IV for Planning and Cooperation Affairs UNJ, Dr. Achmad Ridwan, M.Si.

The socialization ran orderly and the participants seemed enthusiastic because the moment of the Statute release had been highly awaited by various parties. Acting Rector of UNJ, Prof. Intan Ahmad also conveyed a long series of processes must be carried out until the formation of the UNJ Statute. After through long processes carried out by UNJ and the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education finally the result showed up as the ministry issued Ministerial Regulation Number 42 of 2018 concerning the Statute of Universitas Negeri Jakarta.

In this statute socialization, Acting Rector revealed that Rector Election of UNJ will be held soon. “However, before the Rector election, there are many actions that need to be carried out by UNJ. One of them is the formation of the University Senate,” he said. According to him the formation senate is the first step to do prior the election. The university senate has influential determination towards rector candidates who will be elected later and decision making. He also added, before the formation of university senate, there is a faculty senate formation that need to take care about.  Furthermore, Acting Rector also said that besides the university formation senate, there are many steps need to be done until reach the election time such as forming for Rector Election committee, making procedures for the election process, as well as deciding the candidates. “I hope the elaboration can be a clarification for all UNJ’s parties that many stages we have to trough before heading the rector election,” concluded Prof. Intan Ahmad in socialization of UNJ Statute this afternoon.
