Workshop Qualitative Research Methods: Coding Analysis, Narrative Analysis, Discourse Analysis and Content Analysis

UNJ Public Relations 05/09/2018 – Universitas Negeri Jakarta for several times gave all academic community, especially for lectures and students in conducting research for qualitative sphere in an event named “Qualitative Research Methods: Coding Analysis, Narrative Analysis, Discourse Analysis and Content Analysis”. The event was organized by academic afffairs of Universitas Negeri Jakarta for two days, October 4-5 2018 and took place at Gedung Syafei UNJ, 8th floor. Positive enthusiasm was shown by public through the numerous listed participants.

This workshop was opened by Vice Rector of academic affairs and Vice rector for planning and cooperation affairs, Dr. Achmad Ridwan, M.Si. In his opening remarks, he thank to all academicians in UNJ specifically to lecturers and students who have worked hard in raising the rank of Universitas Negeri Jakarta. UNJ is ranked 19th out of 4.504 higher educations over Indonesia. Vice rector also expect this kind of workshop will improving the research quality in UNJ.

The speaker of this workshop was an Associate Professor from National University of Singapore, Dr. Eric Charles Thompson. The first day of workshop concerned on coding analysis and theme analysis. On the following day discussed about narrative analysis, discourse analysis and content analysis. Furthermore, several practices were employed to get in depth concerning each discussion which were audience actively engaged.
