UNJ Public Relations 13/9/2018 – There are 11 athelates from Universitas Negeri Jakarta who succeded in donating medals for Indonesia in Asian Games 2018, they got some awards from the university. The awarding of those outstanding athletes was packaged in the “Appreciation Night of UNJ Students who became Champions in Asian Games 2018”. It held on Thursday, September 13 2018 at 18:00 at the Campus B UNJ Multipurpose Building.

The awarding for the outstanding athletes was carried out by Rector Acting Chancellor of UNJ, Prof. Intan Ahmad, Ph.D and the moment witnessed directly by UNJ academicians, Kemenpora, DKI Jakarta Government, Central KONI of Indonesia, KONI of DKI, Sports Leaders and figures and UNJ working partners. The awarding was not only for athelets who got gold, silver and bronze medals, but certificate appreciations also given for athletes who did not win any medals as known that being able to perform and represent in Asian Games 2018 for Indonesia was such a great honors.

UNJ sent 33 atheletes, 11 trainers, and 2 officials with total amount of 46 contigents participated in succeeding Asian Games 2018. UNJ athelets who successfully contributed 6 gold medals were Defia Rosmaniar (Taekwondo), Puji Lestari (Sport Climbing Team) Pipiet Kamelia, Wewey Wita, Yola Primadona and Sugianto (Pencak silat). Moreover, 5 silver medals also collected by Puji Lestari (Sport Climbing-Women’s Speed), MS Dwi Putra (Shooting), Edwin Ginanjar Rudiana (Paddlinh), Rifda Irfanaluthfi (Artistic Gymnastic) and Emilia Nova (Athletics, 100 M hurdles), and 1 bronze medal by Achmad Khulaefi (Wushu). The first gold medals of Indonesia achieved by UNJ athlete Defia Rosmaniar from the Taekwondo branch of the Women’s Individual Poomsae category.
