Seminar and Workshop of UNJ : Development of UNJ heading to a Reputable University in Asia

Public Relations of UNJ (11/13/2019) – Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ) held a Seminar and Workshop of UNJ: Development of UNJ heading to a Reputable University in Asia on Wednesday, 13th November 2019 at UTC Auditorium of UNJ. Attended the agenda were the Rector of UNJ, Dr. Komarudin, M.Si., Head of Senate of UNJ, Prof. Hafid Abbas, the board of Vice Rectors, Deans and academicians of UNJ.

Vice Rector for Planning and Cooperation Affairs, Dr. Totok Bintoro, in his report said that according to the Regulation of the Minister of Research, Technology, and Higher Education No. 42 year 2018 particularly on chapter 29 article 1 concerning Statute of UNJ, the new Vision and Mission of UNJ states “To be a reputable university in Asia”

“To meet the vision, UNJ has to develop a 25-year long-term plan followed with a 5-year development plan, “Dr. Totok explained.

The workshop held aimed to generate main ideas philosophically, empirically, practically, and technically, leading UNJ where to go. The ideas are next formulized by a team in the workshop following the seminar. The formulation derived will be used as a foundation and main strategic plan of UNJ with a view to achieving the vision.

Dr. Komarudin, M. Si., the Rector, in his briefing said that the Statute of UNJ demands UNJ to have a strategic plan and Business Strategic Plan (RSB). “The discussion to express the main ideas needs seriously performing to compose the strategic plan. This is the time for us to have a correct organization to have things all clear,” Dr. Komarudin said.

Dr. Komarudin asked all academicians of UNJ to give their general ideas to meet the vision of being a reputable university in Asia. “I am asking all academicians of UNJ to give your general ideas to meet the vision of being a reputable university in Asia. There have been many doubts that UNJ can reach its vision as to UNJ’s decreasing rank from #19 to #49. I am now the leader, the driver, it is true, but if I am also supported by all members of UNJ, this can be the initial start for us to develop and bring a good and big name of UNJ, “Dr. Komarudin added.

The result of the workshop will be used for an in-depth analysis on the encountered problems, existing potential and opportunities, as well as policy to meet the strategic targets of development so that the vision of UNJ for being a reputable university in Asia is likely to be met.

The workshop was attended by six resource persons, among of them: ex-rector of UNJ, Dr. Conny R. Semiawan, Prof. Prof. Dr. Anah S. Soeparno, and Prof. Dr. Sutjipto, Head of Senate, Prof. Dr. Hafid Abbas, Professor of FKIP Universitas Terbuka (UT), Prof. Dr. Atwi Suparman, and Head of National Planning and Development Agency (Bappenas) for Human Resource Development Division, Dr. Ir. Subandi, M.Sc.
