Prof. Mohamad Nasir Inaugurated the National Center Test for University Admissions (LTMPT)

(4/1)  The Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Mohamad Nasir had inaugurated National Center Test for University Admissions (LTMPT) in National Retreat (Rakernas) 2019 held by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia (KEMENRISTEKDIKTI) at Professor Soedarto Building, Universitas Diponegoro, Semarang. LTMPT will take responsibility in conducting Public University Entrance Examination and will focus on developing the instruments for the test, such as managing data of the prospective students for the Public University Entrance Examination (both SNMPTN and SBMPTN), executing Computer-Based Test (UTBK), and announcing the result of the test to the applicants and public universities.

LTMPT is an independent institution initiated by Majelis Rektor Perguruan Tinggi Negeri Indonesia (MRPTNI). Head of MRPTNI, Prof. Kadarsah Suryadi explained that LTMPT was created in order to conduct a test that is credible, fair, transparent, flexible, efficient, and accountable. Prof. Kadarsah also explained that people will benefit from the existence of LTMPT as the only organizer of UTBK.  UTBK can help prospective students in reducing errors in filling out the identity form, question sheet code, and answer sheet. UTBK will be held in 74 UTBK centers 10 times.  The applicants can do the test twice and the result will be directly given to them 10 days after the test.

LTMPT also has its official website (www.ltmpt.ac.id) that contains information related to SNMPTN and SBMPTN for the public to see. Prof. Kadarsah encouraged all headmasters/ headmistress or the public, in general, to pay close attention to the time frame of SNMPTN and SBMPTN 2019.

This is an incredible breakthrough by the MRPTNI after doing research. “We hope that every high school students (SMA/SMK/MAN) in Indonesia, not only students from a well-equipped school, will have the same chance to get into the best university,” stated Prof. Nasir as quoted from the press conference received by UNPAD’s Public Communication Office.
