MoU between UNJ and Tiran Group Labschool Makassar

Public Relations of UNJ (9/12/2019) – PT. Tiran Makassar and Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ) were mutually signing an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) concerning Implementation of Pre-Elementary and Secondary School Education through Establishment and Management of Labschool of UNJ on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at the Rectorate Building, Campus A UNJ. The Managing Director of PT. Tiran Makassar, Ms. Amber Victoria Ramah, Legal Manager, Iwan Kurniawan Hamid, M.H., and the Acting Rector of UNJ, Prof. Intan Ahmad, the Vice Rectors, Deans, and Representatives of Labschool were attending the session.

 “It is both an honor and pleasure of the Tiran Group to work together with UNJ to establish Labschool in Makassar and extend the excellent of Labschool education to the people of the region. Education is not the filling of the pail, but the lighting of a fire. So we hope that together we can light a tremendous fire in Makassar with this establishment and success of Labschool” Ms. Amber explained.

Ms. Amber in her words also noted that Tiran Group is a corporate upon which responsibilities’ of other parties either from public or private sector can be relied for contributing itself in a sustainable development in society. The corporate decides ways and ensures the future education in the eastern part of Indonesia for the better. Its vision is to maintain excellence and equality of education for children as implemented in this cooperation between the corporate and UNJ to establish Labschool in Makassar.

Prof. Intan appreciated Tiran Group for its contribution to the education in Indonesia. “It is a pleasure of UNJ, to have another opportunity to establish Labschool and to sign an MoU with Tiran Group. If we talk about cooperation, we need to be able to maintain quality. UNJ’s Labschool has been established since 1968, so it has been evident that we have a lot of experiences in managing education” Prof. Intan Ahmad said. It was expected that having Labschool off Jakarta will steadily lead to better education. Following the signing, UNJ and Tiran Group will have a detailed discussion about the establishment to ensure and present high quality Labschool education.

The MoU was signed by Managing Director of PT Tiran Makassar, Ms. Amber Victoria Ramah, and the Acting Rector of UNJ, Prof. Intan Ahmad, witnessed by Legal Manager of PT Tiran Makassar, Iwan Kurniawan, M.H., dan Vice Rector for Planning and Cooperation Affairs, Dr. Achmad Ridwan, M.Si.
