The Conferment Night of The Ambassador for Universitas Negeri Jakarta 2019

Public Relations of UNJ (11/15/2019) – Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ) through its Public Relations and Public Information Office held the conferment night of the Ambassador for Universitas Negeri Jakarta 2019 on Friday, 15th November 2019 at Latief Hendraningrat Auditorium, Dewi Sartika Building Fl. 2, Campus A UNJ. The ceremony was attended by the Rector of UNJ, Dr. Komarudin, M.Si., Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Dr. Abdul Sukur, M.Si., Dean of Faculty of Education Sciences, Vice Deans, and Coordinators of Department, as well as Head of Public Relations and Public Information Office, Khrisnamurti, M.Sc. The event was cheered up by supporters of the finalists coming from each faculty.

The program of the Ambassador for UNJ was initiated in 2012 serving as students’ representation having high dedication and loyalty to the alma mater. An Ambassador for UNJ should possess a broad insight, good language ability, strong character, and willingness to persistently develop UNJ.

“These iconic figures will be a front guardian of UNJ since they are under the coordination of the Public Relations and Public Information Office. This year event has been the 8th execution of the UNJ Ambassador contest,”Khrisnamurti reported.

Not only do they become the icons of official occasions, but they are also reserved for UNJ as representatives of the university added by Khrisnamurti. The ambassadors will be involved in duties in regards to public relations such as general services, protocols, Master of Ceremony, and the like.

The Election of the Ambassador for UNJ 2019 themed “The Unification of the Archipelago in Jakarta (UNJ)” was visualized in the Conferment Night through some such performances as dances, music, and others that show diversity in order to grow awareness and love to the existing differences found in Jakarta.

“What an outstanding opening performance it was presented by the Ambassador finalists of 2019. The performance was in fact a collaboration of traditional (Betawi) and modern dances. The finalists to be well-performed were trained by their seniors and the occasion itself was successfully organized also by their seniors instead of hiring an EO. This proves how multi-talented the Ambassadors for UNJ are either the ex- or on-duty Ambassadors,” Dr. Komarudin, the Rector, said in his speech. He was expecting that the regeneration of the Ambassador for UNJ will keep being well-carried out and much better developed.

“Hopefully the Ambassador for UNJ of 2019 will be of better quality, not only continuing the responsibility of the formers, but also having something more to be proud of like soft skills, innovation, creativity to develop the public relations programs proclaimed by UNJ,” Khrisnamurti ended.

A series of the selection of the Ambassador for UNJ began from the following stages: selection, quarantine, matriculation, talent show off, and climax performance: the Conferment Night of the Ambassador for Universitas Negeri Jakarta. All of these serial activities aim to train the prospective ambassadors so that they will become the representatives of UNJ having good character, nice performance and broad way of thinking.

At this night, the finalists were having some tests to be examined by 3 judges: Founder of the Ambassador for UNJ contest, Widya Parimita, S.E., M.P.A., Head of Dharma Wanita, Linda Zakiah, M,Pd., and Princess of Indonesia 2019 for Peace, Annisa Fitri. The judges would give the final assessment to the finalists to decide on the elected Ambassador for UNJ 2019.
